[Regulatory Detailed Planning] Tangbei Unit, Hangzhou

Tangbei Unit (XH06) is a 315.87-hectare block at the northwest edge of Hangzhou’s central city, bounded by Fengtan Road, the Yuhang Tang Canal, Guangming Road, and Liuxiang Road. It sits next to Zhejiang University’s Zijingang campus, at the eastern end of the Chengxi Science and Innovation Corridor. Our studio prepared the complete regulatory detailed plan for the unit: statutory text, explanatory report, and drawing atlas.

The plan structures the unit as one core, two rings, and three districts. An innovation core concentrates R&D institutions and incubation space; a vitality ring of commercial and cultural functions and a quality-living ring of residential neighborhoods wrap around it; and three special districts cover science finance, a preserved historic block, and everyday services. Roughly 40% of the construction land goes to housing across six residential districts, matched with schools, clinics, and elderly-care facilities, and land use along the Metro Line 2 corridor is arranged for TOD development.
